Invest as You Are Led
For more than 20 years, I have brought together two important areas of my experience: a commitment to the Quaker faith and a career in finance and investing. Through service on Quaker committees, boards, and financial organizations, I have worked to approach financial management with the same care, integrity, and conscientiousness that guide Quaker practice.
While serving as Clerk of a Yearly Meeting pooled funds organization, I recognized something distinctive about Quaker investing: there is no single definition of values that applies to every Friend, Meeting, or Quaker organization. Each community and individual may be led differently.
That insight became the foundation for Quaker Values Investments, LLC.
We believe that values-based investing should begin with your values—not a generic set of screens or restrictions.
Quaker Values Investments has developed a disciplined, efficient process for translating the values and priorities of each client into a customized investment review. We conduct ongoing due diligence on the underlying securities in a portfolio to identify potential conflicts with the client's stated guidelines and values.
This approach goes beyond simply evaluating investment performance and risk. It gives Friends and Quaker organizations the opportunity to understand what they own and why they own it, while maintaining an investment strategy consistent with their financial objectives.
Investing in Alignment With Your Values
Your Values. Your Portfolio.
Quaker values and testimonies can be expressed differently across Meetings, organizations, and individuals. We believe your investment portfolio should have the same flexibility.
Rather than applying a predetermined set of "values guardrails," we work with each client to establish the values and priorities that are meaningful to them. Those guidelines then become an integral part of the investment process, with ongoing review designed to help ensure that the portfolio remains aligned as circumstances change.
Our goal is simple: to provide greater confidence and peace of mind that your investments reflect not only your financial objectives, but also the values by which you seek to live.

A Lifelong Connection to the Quaker Community
Erik grew up in Portland, Maine, where he attended Portland Friends Meeting and spent his summers at Friends Camp on China Lake in South China, Maine. Those early experiences helped establish a lasting connection to the Quaker community and its values.
As an adult, Erik continued his involvement in Quaker life as an attender and committee member at Wellesley Friends Meeting in Massachusetts and Fort Worth Monthly Meeting in Texas. After moving to New York City with Amy, he joined 15th Street Friends Meeting in Manhattan.
Over the years, Erik has valued the many friendships, relationships, and opportunities for service that have come through his participation in the Religious Society of Friends. These experiences have also shaped his approach to financial management—one grounded in careful stewardship, integrity, conscientiousness, and respect for the individual values and testimonies of each Quaker community.
Erik looks forward to continuing to serve the Quaker community and to meeting the many Friends who share a commitment to putting their values into practice—including through their investments.
